Jewels & Tidbits

I want to use this area to post some really good deals, good vendors, good finds or just anything I think can be used if someone else is planning a special event.

To start this off I’d like to post a few links to resources that I believe have come in VERY handy. Use what you can and if you use someone from my list please say that you got them from me. Also if you have anyone you’d like to add please let me know and we can add to the list.

My Vacation Lady – Mindy Gilbert
I met Mindy at a bridal show and we had a phone consult. She is extremely pleasant, helpful and great at what she does. I can go on about what she offers but bottom line – she did the research for me, booked the best possible price beating what I found online and just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, Mindy provides a pricing service. If a promotion comes out or lower pricing before your trip you can expect a refund to your billing account. What a surprise for me to get an email notifying me of this last week. This type of service (mind you this service is FREE since your deposit goes towards your purchased package) offers a much needed piece of mind in your travel planning process. There is much more she offers so check out the website and contact Mindy.

Just Have Fun Events – Adrianna Smith
I am using Adrianna as my day-off wedding coordinator. Even though she is only supposed to assist with day-off items, she has gone out of her way to check up on my periodically, provide much needed information when my research and brainstorming sessions come to a halt and she makes sure I remember to keep my budget in check. I know of several events, parties and weddings where Adrianna has been part of managing the event and she is a hard worker with great attention to detail. Really worth every penny.

Honeyfund
This website is a registry site to assist couples in collecting gifts that go towards your wedding. This site does not have any fees and makes the process of gift giving/receiving very easy by collecting funds, use of your paypal account or recording gifts that people will later give you in person.

These are just a few to start with, I’ll update periodically so be sure to check for updates often!

(To keep all tips in one area, I am just going to update this page – watch for dates for new postings)

    Hey there Minerva,
we received your email over here at My Fair Wedding. I was wondering what your theme is? Do you have one and what is the significance of it? What are your colors?

    Thanks!

My theme? Oh boy, not sure I really have one.

The hardest part to my personality is that I am so all over. To those around me they have expected a beach wedding to a wedding with fire performances. Not to say none of these fit me, because I am a pretty social person that likes being in the spotlight and organizing/hosting parties, and always willing to try things. The part of me that seems to exude no matter what though is that I have a taste for things classy, sophisticated and I’ll just say it, sexy. That’s what I want out of my wedding. People have seen the Minerva that hosts parties, that will play with a fire hoop, that’s a mom of a 10 year old and a complete Virgo in every sense of the word.

I have tried to bring that into my wedding, having my wedding at an old Victorian mansion, a mermaid style wedding dress, Victorian statuesque bridesmaid dresses and using orchids as my flower. I have a few ideas that I am working on to bring our fun personality also into the event but it’s hard without the ideas clashing or seeming out of place with what I’ve already set into place.

With that my colors are: Champagne, Ivory and Celedon. Thank you so much for the possible chance and stopping by my blog!

If anyone deserves David’s help, it’s Minerva! She has great taste, but little budget, and as she said, she’s a little all over the place! With that being said, it’s sometimes difficult to bring all of the pieces that make up Minerva, and all of the pieces that make up Minerva and Nabil, together to create the amazing wedding that they deserve. As much as I have been looking forward to being her Day-Of Coordinator, I would so gladly step out of the way for David to take over. Minerva has been planning this wedding pretty much on her own, and she needs his help to piece their day into an unforgettable affair!
